It was reported that the startup of US president Barack Obama last Tuesday leads website slowdowns but not totally brought down the internet world.

Millions of people around the world, including here in the Philippines, have a big interest to the ceremonies and oath taking of President Obama to his office in the White House. And as expected, users, especially those who are in the office and/or people who have no TV access are buckling their seatbelt as they are watching online and tuning on the happenings during the inauguration day. Most especially, for the filipinos who are very proud that one of the young divas were invited to sing for Obama and thats no other than Charice Pempengco.

Some of the sites experiencing slowdowns are ABC, CBS, Fox Business, the L.A. Times, NBC, National Public Radio, USA Today and The Wall Street Journal. This is according to Keynote Systems, an Internet measurement and testing company.

Details of this phone will be released soon but with no specific date. It will be available in the US in Spring of 2009.
China to control people to blog?
According to the US State Department which is noted in a 2008 report, China had increased its campaign to "control and censor the internet, and the government had tightened restrictions on freedom of speech and the domestic press" and bloggers.

This move was realized as many Chinese government agencis launched a drive against pornographic pictures, videos, content or any materials on the web. In addition, China has released a blacklist of 19 websites, including Google that said to be providing these adult contented pages.
According to Xinhua news agency, Chinese Google has provided large number of links to some porn websites in their search results which includes pictures and links.
But like any other country, China has made this actions for the people's safety and security.
