Everytime i log in to my computer, im used to open my meebo for my IM accounts and go to my different email accounts to check emails of course. I am doing it for about 5 years already but not counting --- coz Google wave has come or i may say will come later this year.



Google has always been a shock giver to all users online. Just this recently finished Google's I/O Conference 2009, Google team has introduced its precious Google Waves. It may sound new and a nosebleeder, for layman's term, we can understand it by simply thinking of email and traditional IM into one application.

As how Google define Google Waves, it is a new model for communication and collaboration on the web. It is a product that helps users communicate and collaborate on the web.



A "web" is equal parts conversation and document, where users can almost instantly communicate and work together with richly formatted text, photos, videos, maps, and more.

Microsoft alleged new search engine codename: Kumo was forgotten and put to trash as the company is now considering its new name BING. And the shaking news is that Microsoft is working to have a massive Ad campaign.

According to AdvertisingAge, Bing will cost for about $80-$100 million not just online, but this includes advertisement and promotions on TV, print and radios. It cannot be denied that this move will be compared to Google's advertising launching budget of $25 million only last year. Will this big amount pushed by Microsoft can do a big change in internet search market?

I always remember when i ask my boss or classmate with a certain topic, they would preferably replied, "Google it!" . Can Bing change this users view of internet search? Can Bing beat Google's new tools and search options? Can Bing surpass Yahoo's new features of searching online? Can Bin even ask ASK.com?

Last Saturday, May 23, 2009 marked the first ever and the biggest Ultimate Overclocking show in the Philippines which was held at SM City Cebu Entertainment plaza with two of the most prominent Overclockers group here in Cebu, The Sugbo Elites and The Cebu Extremes, both competing for the title "Ultimate Overclockers" and a prize which total to about 50,000 pesos. Very lucky for the Cebu Bloggers Society to be invited and joined the media group in the said event.


Each team will do their best to gain and achieve the following categories:

• Highest % Overclock
• Highest CPU Mhz
• Highest Bclock
• Highest Memory Speed
• Highest 3DMark Vantage score in the overclocked system
• Highest SuperPI

Both teams used ASUS motherboards but with different Processors namely; ASUS Rampage II Gene for Intel Core i7 920 2.66 Ghz (INTEL) and ASUS M4A79-T Deluxe for Phenom II X4 9650 (AMD). The two teams worked great and were successful to overclock the system, with the laymen's term; they were able to function the system above normal. Cebu Extremes has successfully overclocked from 2.66 Ghz to 4.299 Ghz while Sugbo Elites produced 4.0 Ghz from 3.0 Ghz normal. In addition, ASUS offered three of its Overclocking tools: TurboV, Turbo Key and Precision Tweaker.

In this affair, ASUS was able to introduce some of its products which they have given to the attendees/audience after every Question and Answer portion. Some of them are the ASUS OCZ-A Sata with 1,500 mbps speed, u1 asus music station, their Computer harness and others. Regarding the warranty, as asked by Jun Tariman of ABS-CBN Cebu if ASUS will provide warranty to those damaged Motherboards which is an effect of an Overclocking activity, then the ASUS confirmed, they do but only depends on what really happens or the cause of the tamperation. For example, if the problem is over hardware, ASUS technician will further check the hardware and there will be a possible board replacement if cannot be fixed.



CBS was able to cover the whole activity until end. Afterwhich, the group has decided to unwind and proceed to McBilly's house for an overnight videoke party and to celebrate his achievement as Mania Cum Laude in BSIT at AMA Computer College. Congratulations bro!

Yes! Here comes the Beta version of Google Chrome 2 available for users to enjoy. It was remembered last September 2008 when Google Chrome team release the 1st version of Google Chrome, the most convenient and fastest browser ever. They may say they have not found any bugs or the like but what feature that irritates me most is during the start-up of the browser, thumbnail view of most visited sites really sucks, i just don't like it.



But here is the changes and improvement made for Google Chrome 2.

Improved New Tab Page ( i can now removed those thumbnail)
Full Screen Mode
Form Autofill ( as i remembered, Mozilla Firefox already has this feature and we are using it in one of our tools here in the office but i found it not so practical)

Increased Speed (yes, really, google chrome 2 is faster)

After Google's announcement of their newest tools in search arena, here comes Microsoft's leaked images on their latest formed search site with codename: Kumo
What comes in my mind once i read and heard this news was that, are they replacing the Live Search or just Renaming or rebranding the search site?



Well, so much for that, Kumo was already opened and has ongoing testing which started last months ago in Microsoft's internal employees only. And now, there is a buzz that Microsoft will launch Kumo earlier next week.

Just one question, can this move change last April's report on comScore of the search market share of Google, microsoft and Yahoo? After Microsoft topped 8.2 share only? Well, good luck for Kumo or live search.

Nope, its not CIT, we are talking about the latest ranking from comScore Core Search Report for April 2009.For about 14.8 billion online searches in the US (not counting the other countries), GOOGLE still tops the search engine market rank.



With 64.2 % of share of searches, Google outstood the other 4 major search engine sites. While second on the rank is Yahoo, with 20.4 % of share, having its negative figure in Point Change from March to April. Next to it is the Microsoft sites with just 8.2 % followed by ASK network - 3.8 and AOL LLC - 3.4 on the fifth place.

When we talk about its Search Queries output, good thing is, all sites are doing good except AOL LLC having negative figure which shows a lower value of search queries of the month of April than the previous month.

As Microsoft earlier stated that they will release the Microsoft Office 2010 Beta for invited users only, they will do it by July and now starting to collect names for the preview invitations.



As what The Microsoft Office 2010 IT Blog confirmed, below are the preliminary system requirements for the talked software:

1. Office 2010 will be available in both 32-bit and 64-bit versions.
2. Office 2010 will run on Windows XP SP3, Windows Vista, and Windows 7.
3. You don't need to replace hardware that is capable of running 2007, it will support Office 2010. Like Windows 7 has demonstrated, we realize that taking advantage of the hardware you already own is just as important as supporting all the new technology coming out.

In addition, the team has also launched its site for the official countdown of the coming of MS Office 2010 Applications. Microsoft has not released any information on how much this software cost.

Google, the number one search engine site has introduced new tools in searching and querying market during their second Searchology event held at Google's headquarters in Mountain View, California.


Google's Search Options

As what Google define, Search Options is a collection of tools that let you slice and dice your results and generate different views to find what you need faster and easier.

For example, if you are searching for a certain product review in forums but you want the discussion already took place at the past, then Search Options helps a lot. With it, you can search the product's name, apply the option to filter out anything but forum sites and then apply an option to only see results from the past days. For this lot of options, user can now do and search information in their own choose of output.


Rich Snippet

With Google's Rich Snippet, instead of viewing traditional search output in texts, it will extract and show more useful information from web pages.

For example, if you are searching for reviews on a certain product or hotel or restaurant, rich snippets can include average review score, price range and other helpful informations.

While I am still in the stage of dreaming to have Kindle 2.0, now, Amazon has introduced its Kindle DX, a bigger and wider version of Kindle 2.0



Kindle DX is very slim with its 1/3 of an inch. It looks similarly like the 6 inch version which is priced $359. The gadget has its new feature, it has the capability of rotating between protrait and landscape mode automatically based on how user hold the device (i believe one apple gadget has also this ability too :) ) So much for that, Kindle DX has a long battery life and the device is worth $489 and if you will purchase now, Amazon can ship it freely.
